HVUT form 2290 is used for Heavy vehicle tax e-filing. Heavy vehicle use tax online

period, with 55,000 pounds or higher taxable gross weight is calculated and filed
using form 2290. During the taxation period, if the Heavy Highway Vehicle is expected
to be used 5,000 miles or less, the claims need to be made using Highway use tax
form 2290.
Truckers’ tax or Heavy duty truck road tax should be calculated and paid for highway
motor vehicles with a taxable gross weight of 55,000 pounds or higher, used during

If the Heavy highway vehicle later exceeded the mileage use limit during the period
you need to file a separate Highway tax form 2290. Highway use tax form 2290 can

sold, or used lesser than 5,000 miles, a highway use tax refund could be claimed

Federal Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT) is a yearly HVUT tax return compensated to
Internal Revenue Service by Federal Heavy Highway Vehicle. This HVUT tax return

federal states. An exemption statement should be presented along with their registration
renewal in order to obtain federal heavy vehicle use tax exemption from the IRS.
To qualify for suspension, a carrier should send a copy of the heavy use tax form
